Earth & Space - Autumn 2017

Earth and Space

The topic this term fuses together Geography and Science as we become authors, scientists, geologists and mathematicians. We will discover the structure of our Earth and its place within the Solar System. We will learn about plate tectonics and discover more about earthquakes, volcanoes, mountains and climate zones. We will learn about our solar system, the movement of the Earth and the Moon and different time zones. We will make sundials and model volcanoes and learn about the history of space travel.

Our Earth and Space topic will create exciting opportunities to write stories, poems, information texts and persuasive letters.

In PE we will be swimming on Thursdays and developing our agility, coordination and balance in games based sessions in school.

Cross Country and Netball Clubs will also be in full swing this term.

In Art, we will create Volcanic eruptions using oils and model planets using papier mache.
Class 3 will be participating in the Dark Skies project in collaboration with several other schools in the Area. This creative project will focus on music and dance whilst celebrating Bodmin Moor as an international Dark Sky Landscape.
